Privacy Policy

The Forgotten Library (the “Site”) is a personality-reading site operated by Naritan Corporation Co., Ltd. (the “Company”). This policy describes how personal information is handled when you use the Site.

To understand usage and improve the Service, the Site uses Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC. Using cookies and similar technologies, it collects information such as the following, in a form that does not identify individuals:

• Pages viewed and how often
• Time spent on the Site
• Referrers (where you arrived from)
• Approximate region, device and browser

This data is managed under Google’s privacy policy. For details, see the Google Privacy Policy. You can refuse this data collection by disabling cookies.

Your answers and results are stored in your browser’s localStorage. This data is never sent to the Company’s servers, and the Company cannot see its contents. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser data.

Purchases of the paid “Detailed Chapter” are processed through the payment service provided by Stripe. Your card details are handled directly by Stripe; they never pass through the Company’s servers, and the Company never holds them.

The email address you enter at checkout is stored by Stripe. The Company may look up that address through Stripe to confirm or restore a purchase. For details, see the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Your email address is used only for the following purposes:

• Payment confirmation (the receipt sent automatically by Stripe)
• Sending a one-time access link when you request restoration of the Detailed Chapter

Restoration emails are sent using Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). The Company never sends advertising or marketing email.

Access rights to the paid Detailed Chapter are kept in a cookie (HttpOnly) in your browser. This cookie contains only a signed access token and no personally identifying information.

The cookie remains valid for about one year from purchase. Even if you delete it, you can regain access with the email address used at purchase, via the restore page.

The Site contains links to external sites such as Amazon, as places to find items related to your result. For how those sites handle information, please check each site’s privacy policy.

On the Japanese edition, links to Amazon.co.jp include referral tags of the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program, in which the Company participates. Links to Amazon on the English edition currently contain no referral tags.

The Company may revise this policy in response to changes in law or in the Service. Revised versions take effect when posted on this page.
